My friend Neal asked me to make a sticker of this Golgo 13 logo he found:

It's pretty busted, so I decided to redraw it. I grabbed the pen tool and went to work - now he's got the vector image for scalability, and a clean-looking sticker with some sweet colors.

I also went ahead and did the name in a different format -

Working on a couple of related t-shirt designs now. Will post some progress hopefully soon.

Some new photos of the motorcycle work... close to being done with it now. After some more sanding and getting the parts sprayed with a clear coat to protect the paint, I think they'll be ready.

This is a gift for my friend Josh - the periodic table. I recreated the table in its entirety from a source image pulled from the internet. I couldn't find a free one and had to make my own, which I thought was kind of lame. So if anybody needs a vector image of the periodic table, send me a message and I'll give it to you. Also, I'll post a couple more pictures when Josh puts it up in his apartment; it's still got to be cut and mounted.

The table is laser engraved into a piece of bamboo in board form. It's pretty slick material, really.

Here's something I made for my buddy Neal for the holiday - it's a gypsy wagon model out of basswood. More pictures of it here, plus the box I made for it. I used reference photos from the web and made it from the ground up. You can see in one of the pictures it's just over 3" long. It rolls, too! The video is with the other pictures on Flickr.

It's been a really long time since we've made any progress with the motorcycles... got sidetracked with the end of the year and other projects. I haven't forgotten about them, though, and developments will be posted as they come along. This weekend Josh and I masked up his tank for the first level of graphics:

Managed to take a long enough break from Modern Warfare 2 to make a post... this logo is something I did recently for a group presentation on an imaginary business. The name for the company came from the idea of a Jacob's ladder, I think, so I tried to create a subtle "ladders to heaven" effect. Comments please!

I've been meaning to put this up for a while... I did these pieces for Dan Paladin's birthday and sent them to San Diego. They put a photo of them on The Behemoth's blog! Check it out here. A note: the Alien Hominid underwent some color treatment. The original, you'll see, is a little different.

more motorcycle stuff

It occurs to me that people might need more illumination than I've been providing. This is my new motorbike:

The photo isn't of my own cycle; I ripped this from the internets. Mine is the same model and identical in color & condition. It's a 1975 Honda CL360 with about 3k original miles. Having done work for Josh's bike, I thought I'd do a little customization on my own. To start I'm going to replace the tachometer. This is what it looks like right now:

I've come up with some ideas for a new face. Haven't decided which I prefer for certain, though I keep looking back at the heart and grenade. Suggestions?

After some talk with Josh, we came up with final art for the motorcycle. The skull and pinstripes will go on the top of the gas tank, in the center. The shield and lightning bolt will go on the rear fender above the tail light, and the bullets someplace else. Can't wait to get rolling on the bodywork. I'll post some pictures of the work we do when we get around to it. For now, here's the drawing:

I'm starting this blog off with some work I've done recently for a friend of mine, Josh. He got a new Virago 535 and wants to do some custom work on the gas tank. He was thinking skulls, bullets - tough guy stuff. Here are some ideas:
